Christopher Sundita's Salita Blog is dedicated to his thoughts about the language situation and the over 160 languages in the Republic of the Philippines. All of the languages indigenous to the area belong to the Malayo-Polynesian branch of the Austronesian language family. Examples of Philippine languages are: Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilokano, Hiligaynon, Bikol, Kapampangan, Waray-Waray, Pangasinan, Kinaray-a, Maranao, Maguindanao, Tausug, Tboli, Ifugao, Ibanag, Gaddang and many others.
